Cosplay Chess

Thanks to the popularity and over all splendid response we got at the Matsuri, AAC 2008 will be hosting a Chess Match at the con itself in October.

The theme of the Chess Match will be EAST VS WEST and all pieces will be split into those two teams.

All entrants must have their costumes 100% finished when entering and must provide both images of them in the costume along with references.

THE CUT OFF FOR ENTRANTS IS OCTOBER 4

To clarify how the teams will be split, we'll look at a few characters:

Ichigo: He's a shinigami and comes from Japan, that makes him EAST
Spike Spiegal: Was born on Mars, but was given a distinct Caucasian appearance, that makes him WEST.
Inuyasha: He's from Feudal Japan, that's EAST
Seras Victoria: She's from England, that makes her WEST.

Exceptions can be made in dire need of filling up spaces, no repeat characters will be accepted so, please, send in numerous ones to give yourself a better chance at a spot.

You will be informed of your acceptance no later than the FIRST OF OCTOBER.

SPECIAL NOTES:

All Chess Contestants will receive special badges with their character's image on it. Once accepted, we will ask for an image, if you do not supply one we will pick one out for you. It will signify that you are a chess piece and get you early admission into the room for set up and debriefing.

If you have another cosplayer you'd like to use as a special attack, specify it in BOTH OF YOUR APPLICATIONS. Both cosplayers must apply separately but note of each other in their applications.

THE CHESS MATCH WILL BE SUNDAY MORNING, PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN YOU APPLY.
