Another Anime Convention is proud to present is third annual Masquerade contest. This is an event showcasing cosplayers and their carefully made costumes and Skits. In the past years we were graced with a number of amazing costumes, skits, and scantily clad Final Fantasy VII men. Hopefully this year we can expect the same and even more, with the exception of less scantily clad men. We welcome all Anime, Manga, and Japanese video game costumes. Registration will be open shortly. Please read all the rules efore entering.
Novice: Costumes entered under this category are for cosplayers not yet sure of their skills. This category is for beginner cosplayers, or cosplayers that have not won numerous awards before.
Advanced: For advanced cosplayers who have expertise skills or have won numerous awards.
If you have multiple cosplayers of various skills please list cosplayers and their category. Groups containing both novice and advanced will have their performance judged in the advance category. Costumes that are suspect to be bought, or commissioned will be disqualified by the judge's discretion.
Non-competitive Entry: If you have a costume that was commissioned, or just want to showcase an outfit without entering the competitive categories.
Skit: Show us your carefully planned skit! Dance moves and best lip syncing abilities! Its even okay to make a fool out of yourself. Make the audience laugh at your antics or cry at your dramatic reenactment. Skits can be no longer than 2 minutes, and no shorter than one minute.
Walk-ons: Walk on stage and pose for the audience. This not a skit, so all of you who have stage fright, this is the choice for you. Walk-ons may be no longer than 30 seconds.
All contestants will be judged prior to the masquerade. Judging times will vary from Friday through Saturday at 12. Please come prepared to your judging, include your reference photo if you did not send one with your application, and any progress pictures you took during your costume construction. Judge's guidelines will be available at the masquerade head quarters any time it is open. They will also be available if you contact masquerade@anotheranimecon.com.
Reference Image: A reference image is required for each contestant's character and can be sent in as a link with registration in the extra space at the bottom of the entry form. You may also bring one with you at the time of your judging or may send a file to masquerade@anotheranimecon.com. Please remember, a reference image is of the character, not the costume.
