Cosplay Chess

Appearing for the fourth year running, now at Another Anime Convention 2011, we proudly announce another round of Cosplay Chess!

The theme of the Chess Match, going with our 70s Disco Theme, will be HIPS vs SQUARES and all pieces will be split into those two teams.

All entrants must have their costumes 100% finished when entering and must provide both images of them in the costume along with reference images for comparison

THE CUT OFF FOR ENTRANTS IS FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 16th 2011.

To clarify how the teams will be split, we'll look at a few characters:

• Spike Spiegal: Tall, confident, and charismatic, he's definitely HIP.
• Shinji Ikari: If we were playing dodgeball, he'd be my primary target. Squares.
• Sakura Kinomoto: She's a cheerleader, by teen rules that means she's HIP.
• Usagi Tsukino: I just want to tease her and make fun of her hair. Totally square.

Exceptions can be made in dire need of filling up spaces, and no repeat characters will be accepted so, please, send in numerous character entries to give yourself a better chance at a spot. Some characters fill in both sides depending on scenario in the anime, so if you think that's the case, we will decide which side to have you on based on necessity.

You will be informed of your acceptance no later than SEPTEMBER 23rd.

SPECIAL NOTES

If you have another cosplayer you'd like to use as a special attack, PLEASE include their photos along with your own and include their reference pictures as well. If necessary, your special attack may be graduated to an actual piece on the board. Please note that not all special attacks will be accepted.

THE CHESS MATCH WILL BE SUNDAY MORNING, PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN YOU APPLY.
